Quest Diagnostics said this week that a subsidiary has wrapped up the acquisition of a bankrupt health and wellness services provider’s assets.
Secaucus-based Quest said its Summit Health Inc. unit has completed the previously announced deal for the assets of Hooper Holmes Inc., which does business as Provant Health, providing employer health and wellness services specializing in whole person wellness and care cost management.
“This acquisition is wholly consistent with our accelerate growth strategy, and our goal to empower the health and wellness initiatives of employers and other organizations managing population health,” Quest Chairman, CEO and President Steve Rusckowski said in a prepared statement.
Summit’s bid won a bankruptcy auction process after Provant and six affiliates filed for Chapter 11 protection. Provant is expected to continue to operate through the fourth quarter.
