Inspira Medical Center Vineland announced Monday it plans to expand its facility.
The $34 million expansion includes two new floors totaling approximately 56,000 square feet and will add 36 new patient rooms. The project, the health provider said, is in response to the community’s growing demand for emergency care and inpatient beds.
The second floor expansion will be home to 2 East, a Medical Surgical Acute Care Unit with 36 private rooms, two family lounges and a consultation area. Nurse’s stations, offices and other employee areas will also be located on the second floor. The third floor will be left as a shell to accommodate future growth, Inspira said.
“We are extremely excited to open this new patient floor,” Elizabeth Sheridan, chief operating officer of Inspira Medical Centers Vineland and Elmer, said. “The unique decor creates a warm and comforting atmosphere, which complements the exceptional care our award-winning staff provides to our patients.”
Inspira also said the second floor of the tower will be named the Southern Oncology Hematology Patient Floor.
“We are grateful for the generosity of Southern Oncology Hematology Associates. They have been a pillar of excellence in the region for more than 30 years,” John DiAngelo, CEO and president of Inspira Health Network, said. “We hope their gift encourages other physicians in the community to support projects that will enhance patient care.”
In addition to the new floors, 50 new parking spaces have been added to the existing parking lot on the front side of the building for patients and visitors.
“We have made it a priority to grow and expand to accommodate the increased demand we have seen in Vineland and the surrounding communities,” DiAngelo said. “This expansion, along with the Senior Emergency Department we opened last year, will allow us to provide an even better experience, particularly during our busiest periods.”
