ROI-NJ names industry veteran Chmiel its chief operations, marketing officer

ROI-NJ, the omnichannel business media company that produces the ROI-NJ newspaper and ROI-NJ.com website, has named David Chmiel its chief operations officer and chief marketing officer.

ROI-NJ, the authoritative source for news and connections impacting New Jersey’s economic movers and shakers, said Chmiel’s appointment paves the way for the company to reach new heights across a variety of media channels and markets.

“As we head into our second year, we’ve experienced unprecedented growth,” Tom Hughes, ROI-NJ’s publisher and chief revenue officer, said. “In fact, we are now the fastest-growing omnichannel publication in the Garden State, having seen increased engagement on all of our platforms and at our events.”

Chmiel has extensive publishing experience as both an author and multimedia content developer, including working in editorial and management roles at publications including New Jersey Monthly, Time Inc. and Patch.com, as well as the United States Golf Association and other organizations.

“Dave’s incredible experience, unique voice and multimedia expertise make him an ideal addition to a team that is hungry for growth,” Hughes said.

In his new role, Chmiel will oversee all internal operations for ROI-NJ, including human resources, finance and vendor management, as well as playing a key role in the organization’s growth and expansion.

“Our goal is to quickly accelerate this winning brand platform,” Hughes said. “We’ve seen tremendous success with the concept thus far, because ROI-NJ has given a much-needed voice to New Jersey’s B2B marketplace.”

Chmiel and his family live in South Orange.
