American Family Care, a provider of urgent care and occupational medicine, has opened a new urgent care facility in Cedar Grove, it announced Wednesday.
The new facility, located at 480 Pompton Ave., will begin to see patients starting Dec. 3. It will provide medical services that saves patients time and money, AFC said.
Dr. Avery F. Browne was named to serve as the center’s medical director.
“We are very excited about opening a second location in Essex County and being part of the Cedar Grove community. Like our other centers in the surrounding areas, this new clinic will fill a significant void. We look forward to providing urgent care to families who live and work nearby,” Browne said.
AFC Cedar Grove will provide patients with:
- A physician on-site;
- Diagnostic services;
- Laboratory on-site;
- Occupational health exams and workers’ compensation cases;
- Extended hours (Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
“Urgent care is a convenient, economical alternative to visiting a hospital emergency room. Our staff at AFC can treat everything from cuts, bruises and fractures, to colds and flu,” said Albert Saad, who owns and operates the new AFC center in Cedar Grove as well as AFC urgent care centers in West Orange, South Plainfield, and Aberdeen. “Patients choose AFC because we are part of the community and we care deeply about keeping them healthy.”
