The ROI-NJ Podcast: Maples on how N.J.’s cybersecurity is on top, but it can improve

The new ROI-NJ Podcast lets you hear straight from the business leaders and newsmakers in New Jersey. The podcast is a product of ROI-NJ, the premiere business news organization of the Garden State, and hosted by Managing Editor Anjalee Khemlani.

Jared Maples, director of the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, has been tasked with maintaining the integrity of the election process against cybersecurity threats and attacks this week. Maples, an ex-CIA agent, is an expert on the topic and has helped the state lead in cybersecurity measures.

ROI-NJ spoke with Maples in Tel Aviv, during Gov. Phil Murphy’s eight-day economic trade mission through Germany and Israel. Here, he discusses how the state is leading, and how it can improve its cybersecurity efforts by partnering better with the state’s businesses — big and small.
