More support for Christie as A.G.

Former Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno gave an official statement regarding her former boss, Chris Christie, who may be under consideration to be the next attorney general of the United States.

Guadagno, now a partner at Connell Foley, told ROI-NJ Thursday night:

“During his eight years as the United States attorney in New Jersey, Gov. Christie made public corruption his priority and had a record of conviction — of both Republicans and Democrats — that was, and is, unmatched.

“If nominated by the president and confirmed, the American people would be well served by his appointment.”

Bill Palatucci, a former adviser to Christie who now serves as special counsel at Gibbons P.C., also offered his support.

“No one is more qualified for this position that Gov. Christie,” he told ROI-NJ. “He’s not seeking the position, but he should be under serious consideration.”

Earlier Thursday, three former associates of Christie spoke highly of him — but without attribution — in a story that appeared on ROI-NJ.
