Deborah Hospital Foundation raised more than $250,000 to support cardiac care at its 13th Annual Red Tie Gala on Saturday.

More than 375 guests attended the event held at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing and helped raise capital to support the Deborah Heart and Lung Center.

The gala is just one of many ways the foundation is able to fund its mission to never send a bill to a patient. Deborah is only one of three hospitals in the nation that does this, it said.

“It is a great pleasure to once again be part of this amazing event,” Melissa McGrath, gala chair, said. “The work done at Deborah is incredible, from clinical research studies to cutting-edge innovation and technology as well as its robust fellowship program training the next generation of doctors. Knowing that in addition to receiving the very best medical care, patients don’t have to worry about financial stresses during times of medical emergencies is truly wonderful. It is gratifying to support such a dedicated organization.”

Joseph Chirichella, CEO and president of both the center and foundation, agreed.

“We strive to maintain an exceptional level of medical care and provide our patients with an outstanding experience. Our patients, neighbors, friends, and family are the heart and core of our focus here at Deborah. Our mission of compassionate kindness ensures that no one leaves Deborah with financial stress because of a medical bill. I am truly grateful that the Foundation is able to aid in supporting this mission.”
