Marc Alacqua, Signafire Technologies co-founder and CEO, has been named a member of the executive board of the NJ State Veterans Chamber of Commerce.
Alacqua has joined the board, the data fusion and content analytics company said, to help further the Trenton-based nonprofits’ vision of creating a better and fairer economy for veterans and veteran business owners.
The association picked Alacqua, who is a decorated combat veteran and a former lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, it said, for his extensive knowledge in the information technology industry.
“Marc Alacqua is great at whatever he does, whatever it is. It’s as simple as that. His participation in the association is a huge asset for us, and we look forward to the experience and the spirit of entrepreneurship that Marc brings with him,” Jeff Cantor, CEO of NJ Veterans, said.
As a member of the board, he will focus on connecting veterans, the association and its members with the technology sector in New Jersey. He will also assist military personnel in their transition to civilian careers.
“For many veterans, the return to civilian life can be a challenge, so it’s important to offer them a strong support network, with associations, companies and individuals who can serve as guides and mentors through the transition,” Alacqua said. “I am honored to be part of this association and I look forward to giving back to veterans in my community, leveraging the energies of myself and my company to bring opportunity to veterans who are interested in technology.”
