STA names new COO of its North American school bus operations

Wall-based Student Transportation of America, a school bus transportation and fleet service provider, announced it has promoted Gene Kowalczewski the new chief operating officer of its School Transportation Group.

In this role, Kowalczewski will oversee the company’s North American school bus operations.

“Gene has developed a reputation for his smart and creative approach to industry challenges as well as being recognized as a highly effective communicator and inspirational leader throughout his almost 30-year career,” Patrick Vaughan, president of STA’s School Transportation Group, said. “Since joining STA back in 2008, Gene and his team have been at the forefront of the company’s historic growth from Maine to Florida. Their results in the areas of safety and service are highly respected throughout STA and we look forward to his outstanding leadership carrying on throughout our organization.”
