Montclair State University is offering a free professional training workshop on Friday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for all federal employees in response to the government shutdown.
Montclair, together with the American Federation of Government Employees union, the National Treasury Employee Union and the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, said it designed courses and lectures to help attendees acquire skills and leadership while they are out of work.
Classes will focus on people skills (leadership, empathy in the workplace), technical skills (project management, Excel) and career development (skill transferability).
The event, which will be located at the Feliciano School of Business in Montclair, will also be providing breakfast and lunch.
