Cherry Hill-based NFI, a supply chain solutions provider, announced Monday it has acquired SCR, a Seattle-based intermodal-focused brokerage.
The acquisition, NFI said, will help enhance its suite of end-to-end supply chain solutions by expanding its non-asset intermodal services as well as its refrigerated capabilities.
SCR specializes in providing non-asset truckload, LTL, intermodal, air freight and flatbed solutions, NFI said.
“The acquisition of SCR will enhance the service offerings of NFI,” Sid Brown, CEO of NFI, said. “SCR’s expertise in non-asset intermodal solutions, particularly within the refrigerated sector, will expand our brokerage services, as well as increase our presence in the Pacific Northwest. Our shared vision and commitment to customer service makes it a perfect fit for NFI and we look forward to integrating the two companies to further expand our services and better serve our customers. We are excited to have Scott and his team join our company.”
Under the deal, SCR will join NFI’s 200-employee brokerage team.
“Our services and culture align with those of NFI’s, making it an ideal company to grow with,” Scott Rooney, CEO of SCR, said. “We look forward to providing further opportunities to our employees and customers with NFI’s end-to-end supply chain solutions and large footprint throughout North America.”
