Christine Rowe is a senior regional vice president for Robert Half in New Jersey.
We asked her about a recent Robert Half survey that found 62 percent of workers would relocate for a job.
“Relocating for a job is becoming more common, especially in a tight labor market. Employers are having to look outside the company’s geographic area as the war for talent heats up. For workers, it can be a good thing. Depending on the benefits the company is offering, you might be looking at better pay and benefits. It could also be a situation where you can advance your career by gaining more responsibilities. Finally, the cost of living has gotten really expensive in certain cities throughout the country. If you relocate, you might be able to lower your cost of living considerably.”
