New partnership brings sports betting to Topgolf

PointsBet and Topgolf announced Wednesday a partnership to bring sports betting to Topgolf’s two New Jersey-based locations.

The partnership will allow PointsBet, a sportsbook operate, to become the exclusive sports betting partner of Topgolf, a sports and entertainment provider.

Topgolf guests will soon be able to interact with digital cross-platform strategies like incentivized interactions and direct mobile engagement. As part of the deal, there will also be PointsBet-branded bar areas with in-venue media and social campaigns to increase brand awareness.

“Our partnership with Topgolf is a perfect alignment of the sports and entertainment community,” Johnny Aitken, U.S. CEO, PointsBet said. “The PointsBet-branded bar areas, with live game odds and the opportunity to unlock special offers and rewards for downloading the PointsBet mobile app, will be the essential hub for fans to experience new, one-of-a-kind VIP betting experiences.”

Sports betting contests will also be planned at selected Topgolf locations around major sports events, the duo said.

The next planned event, a March Madness Hole in One competition, will take place at Topgolf Edison and Topgolf Mount  Laurel. The grand prize of $25,000 will be awarded to a winner on March 23.

“PointsBet is known for its guest-first and premium approach to sports betting, and we’re thrilled that Topgolf guests will be able to participate in this new venture that captures the spirit of competition and fun,” YuChiang Cheng, media president, Topgolf, said. “Partnering with PointsBet aligns our shared purpose of connecting people in meaningful ways to provide year-round sports entertainment to the local community.”
