GAF names Rooney its new chief information officer

GAF, a Parsippany-based roofing and waterproofing manufacturer, announced Tuesday it has appointed Dion Rooney as chief information officer.

Rooney will be responsible for leading GAF’s technology organization.

“Dion has joined GAF with a long track record of empowering organizations with technology to succeed in today’s increasingly digital world,” Jim Schnepper, president of GAF, said. “His leadership and expertise will play a critical role in GAF’s evolution as we continue to pursue new and better ways to serve our customers and partners.”

“Dion is a transformational leader in the technology space, and we are looking forward to all of the opportunities he will help us unlock across the roofing and waterproofing industry,” Rich Robinson, chief technology officer at Standard Industries, said. “His appointment represents an exciting step forward as we build digital strategies and solutions to evolve our business, and grow our talented technology team.”

Rooney joins GAF from Hudon’s Bay Co., the parent company of Saks, OFF 5th, Lord & Taylor, Hudson’s Bay and Gilt. Previously, he was the chief information officer and vice president, information systems at Toys ‘R’ Us.
