Vitamin Shoppe Inc. Chief Financial Officer Bill Wafford has resigned to become CFO of J.C. Penney Co. Inc., the Secaucus-based nutritional products company announced.
Wafford, who also served as executive vice president, will leave April 5, and be replaced on an interim basis by Charles Knight, currently Vitamin Shoppe’s senior vice president and chief accounting officer.
“We greatly appreciate the contributions Bill has made during his time at the Vitamin Shoppe and we wish him the very best in his new position,” CEO Sharon Leite said in a prepared statement. “We are excited for Chuck to take on this new role as interim CFO. His solid finance and accounting experience is key as we work to drive the company’s financial and operating performance.”
Before joining Vitamin Shoppe, Knight served in a variety of executive roles at Toys “R” Us Inc. from 1990 to 2018, including serving as SVP and corporate controller.
