Clinical research company acquires New York firm

New Providence-based clinical research company Evolution Research Group has acquired a Rochester, New York-based clinical research facility, it announced this week.

ERG, which specializes in early- and late-stage neuroscience drug development for pharmaceutical and clinical research companies, purchased Finger Lakes Clinical Research, which specializes in central nervous system trials, ERG said in a news release.

“We are very excited to welcome (founder Dr. Sarah D. Atkinson) and FLCR to the ERG family,” CEO Lori Wright said in a prepared statement. “The addition of FLCR expands ERG’s geographic capabilities in both adult and pediatric outpatient trials, and further enhances ERG’s growing service offerings to our clients.”

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Honigman LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as ERG’s legal advisers, while Fried Frank served as FLCR’s legal adviser.
