Pearson, the Hoboken-based educational company, has named a new senior vice president of brand as it evolves into a digital lifelong learning company, it said this week.
Alexa Christon, who has a wealth of experience with both agencies and as a GE executive, will lead Pearson’s cross-functional brand team.
“It is rare to have the opportunity to join an inherently mission-driven company, with employees and leadership so committed to improving education for all learners,” she said in a prepared statement. “This is a period of massive opportunity for the company, and I am looking forward to working with the Pearson team to tell the Pearson story and help improve people’s lives all over the world.”
In her new role, she will report to the company’s chief corporate affairs officer, Deirdre Latour.
“Alexa’s creative spirit and energy has helped transform companies and brands by developing and executing audience-first strategies that drive growth for the company,” Latour said in a statement. “I am looking forward to seeing how Alexa builds on the progress we have made hear at Pearson to get education further out into the world to enable lifelong learning for everyone.”
