Clara Maass Medical Center appoints chief clinical effectiveness officer

Clara Maass Medical Center, a Belleville-based medical facility of RWJBarnabas Health, announced Wednesday it has appointed Naveen Ballem to the role of chief clinical effectiveness officer.

In this role, Ballem will be responsible for overseeing, planning and executing the center’s initiatives in quality improvement, performance excellence, regulatory compliance, patient safety and infection control. He will also be tasked with implementing quality improvement and operational and clinical performance initiatives.

Ballem is a New Jersey-based bariatric surgeon and is previously served as the medical director of bariatric services at Clara Mass Medical Center.
