Prudential Financial Inc. announced Wednesday the Prudential Foundation has named a new president, effective immediately.
Shané Harris, the Newark-based financial institute said, will take over the role of president of the company’s foundation.
In this new role, Harris will be responsible for managing the foundation’s relationships with nonprofits and oversee philanthropic grants and corporate contributions, sponsorships, disaster relief, skills-based volunteering, pro bono consultancy and board placements.
“It’s a privilege to be appointed the president of the Prudential Foundation. I’ve seen firsthand the impact Prudential has had in working to advance equity and social justice in underserved communities.,” Harris said. “This work is deeply personal to me and I’m proud to represent the company in these efforts.”
Harris also serves as vice president of corporate social responsibility.
