The Borough of Carteret announced Tuesday it has officially cut the ribbon on a boat marina.
Mayor Daniel J. Reimen along with Gov. Phil Murphy, Speaker Craig Coughlin and Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios opened the 185-slip boat Carteret Municipal Marina on Saturday.
The marina is part of a 10-year long, $13.6 million project to improve public access along the Arthur Kill. The 26-acre waterfront park includes a fishing pier, a free boat launch, a miniature golf course, putting green, volleyball and bocce ball courts, a garden, and a river walk.
“This waterfront has been given new life, rivaling any waterfront park in the state,” Rios said. “I know this park will be the setting for a lifetime of memories for thousands of residents and visitors.”
