Taco Bell opens new location in Wharton

Taco Bell announced Wednesday it has opened a new restaurant in Wharton.

The Mexican fast-food chain said it took over 1,850 square feet at 321 Route 15. Paramount Assets, a real estate developer, owns the 13,000-square-foot retail property that Taco Bell is leasing space at.

Representatives of Paramount Asset and Taco Bell as well as local dignitaries and members of the community attended the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the property on June 21.

Maurice Levy, the firm’s chief operating officer, arranged the lease. Jason Pierson of Pierson Real Estate and Ryan Feldman of Alliance Retail Development served as leasing agents in the deal.

The chain also recently announced plans to expand its vegetarian and vegan menu options.

“We are thrilled to welcome our first Taco Bell restaurant to one of our properties,” Levy said. “Busy Lady Plaza, with its proximity to a Costco store, is an ideal location for the national chain’s expansion in the region and offers the community another popular dining option.”

Financial terms were not disclosed.
