Atkins Cos., Woodmont Properties ink first retail tenants at new South Jersey mixed-use community

West Orange-based Atkins Companies and Fairfield-based Woodmont Properties, both commercial real estate firms, announced Monday they have inked three lease deals at a new South Jersey mixed-use community called Washington Square Town Center.

The leases, located 253 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in Washington Township, include:

The center, currently in development by the partnership, will feature 30,000 square feet of retail space across three 10,000-square-foot standalone buildings. The retail component is part of a mixed-use community with 330 residential apartments, 100 townhomes, an assisted living facility and a 40,000-square-foot medical office building.

PetCheck and Strive will become the center’s first retail tenants.

“We recognized early on in our planning for Washington Square Town Center that attracting unique and in-demand retail operators would be vital in building a vibrant mixed-use community,” Bob Atkins, managing partner of Atkins Companies, said. “Building off the successful leasing at our Rothman Medical Building, these first three retail leases highlight the early success of our leasing strategy at the property and we look forward to announcing a wide range of additional retail tenants over the next several months.”

Atkins and Woodmont were represented by Joe Raniszewski of MSC Retail in the three deals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
