Conduent to help Calif. transit agencies operate fleets

Conduent Transportation, a business unit of digital interactions company Conduent Inc., announced Tuesday it will aid public transit agencies in Southern California operate their fleets and provide quality services for passengers.

Under two new contracts, Florham Park-based Conduent will upgrade the hardware and software of the management systems on hundreds of buses for the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System and North County Transit District as well as key areas in Orange County Transportation Authority‘s system.

The agencies will use Conduent’s solutions to assist drivers with routing and keep buses on schedule as well as provide real-time vehicle information on bus locations. For dispatch personnel, the systems track bus performance and enable communication with the fleet.

“These upgrades are critically important for our clients and their customers,” John Peracchio, interim CEO, Conduent Transportation, said. “The newer systems will give the agencies more data and options for operations to run smoothly, leading to even more reliable and trusted service for riders.”
