Real estate builder and developer Louis Mont, who has worked in the Hudson Waterfront area for the past four decades, is launching a new firm in North Bergen known as Skyline Development Group LLC.
He will serve as CEO.
“It’s no secret Hudson County has become a hotbed of residential development and a sought-after location for both New York metro area buyers and renters,” Mont said. “I’m thrilled to be able to create a fresh new company that’s uniquely positioned and staffed to tap into this flourishing market.”
With the launch of this firm comes its first acquisition, a 14-story building with 70 boutique and unique condominiums located at 8701 Churchill Road in North Bergen. Mont and Skyline have secured $55.5 million in financing from California-based Mosaic Real Estate Investors. Jonathan Aghravi of New York City-based JBA Equities served as broker for the transaction.
Construction is to begin in September for the still unnamed development. The condos will enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies with views from every unit supposedly stretching across the Hudson to the New York City skyline. Customized, resident-only amenities will include a fully outfitted spa experience with a fitness center, steam, sauna, cold plunge, hot tub and carbon tank as well as shower and locker facilities.
“Our goal is to provide not only a beautifully appointed luxury home, but also a lifestyle opportunity not commonly found in other Gold Coast buildings,” Mont said.
Skyline will use Mont’s experience in urban construction and his connections in the state to establish multifamily real estate assets. The focus of Skyline’s efforts will be geared toward mixed-use and high-rise developments in Gold Coast cities throughout the state.
Mont’s team at Skyline will consist of key employees he’s worked with in the past on projects in Hoboken and Jersey City. He says his team has a firm understanding of the needs of the Gold Coast communities and their residents.
Skyline has also secured property rights to for a 350-unit development in the Bergen Lafayette neighborhood of Jersey City.
Prior to Skyline, Mont was the chief operating officer at a Jersey City-based real estate company where he oversaw the construction, marketing, leasing and management of over 600 luxury rental units in several Jersey City high-rise buildings.
