Ascena Retail Group Inc., the Mahwah-based retail company, is considering selling two more of its clothing chains, according to a recent published report.
Ascena, which shuffled its leadership, sold off its Maurices brand and announced plans to close its Dressbarn stores earlier this year, has held discussions about sales of both the Catherines and Lane Bryant units, according to Bloomberg. Both chains sell women’s plus-sized clothing.
The company declined to comment for the report, and did not immediately respond to an ROI-NJ request for comment.
The two chains combine for more than 1,000 stores nationwide.
Ascena also operates the Ann Taylor and Justice clothing stores, among other operations.
