Altair Health announced Tuesday it has named Kyle W. D. Nelson as its new CEO.
The Morristown-based physician-managed health care system devoted to comprehensive spine care said Nelson, who started his career in baking, has a successful track record of building and managing orthopedic practices and health care consults.
“In 2002, while I was serving as an assistant vice president of client services at Wells Fargo Corporate Trust, I donated a kidney to my dad,” Nelson said. “As I recuperated in the hospital for seven days, I saw the inner workings of our health care system and decided I want to dedicate my career to enhancing the patient experience and outcomes.”
Prior to his appointment, Nelson most recently served as CEO and president of his own health care consulting practice.
“Health care today is about creating patient experiences, not just providing services,” he said. “To achieve this, healthcare providers must offer an expanded suite of services through vertical integration of care. Altair Health’s goal is to create a destination for comprehensive spine care, which is why we have brought together a team of experts from numerous specialties – including neurosurgeons, physical therapists, pain management specialists, physiatrists, acupuncturists, wellness specialists and more – within one integrated healthcare system. Together, this team manages each patient’s care from start to finish.”
Altair Health recently opened two facilities, a 10,000-square-foot medical center and a 16,000-square-foot surgery center.
