Fairfield-based toymaker Alex Brands Inc. announced it is will acquire US Foam Corp., angling to bolster its POOF line of foam sports products.
The deal will add US Foam’s production facility in Lewisville, Texas, to Alex Brands’ foam sports ball manufacturing capabilities. US Foam is known for making soft and safe footballs, soccer balls and baseballs. Alex’s POOF facility in Plymouth, Michigan, will continue its production role, as well, the company noted.
“The acquisition of US Foam, along with its seasoned management team, is a natural extension of our Made in America initiative,” Alex Brands CEO Richard Yanofsky said in a prepared statement. “It will add efficiencies and capacity, deepening our expertise in the category.”
Added US Foam President Judd Nathanson: “We’re incredibly excited to join the Alex Brands family and the possibilities it brings. Remaining true to our U.S. manufacturing roots was very important to us, and we couldn’t be happier to align with a like-minded company.”
