There are currently three new warehouse and distribution buildings under construction at the Lakewood Industrial Park, according to The Sudler Cos.

Built by the Chatham-based real estate developer, the properties — which total 145,200 square feet — include:

  • 74,000 square feet at 1719 Oak St.;
  • 40,000 square feet at 825 Towbin Ave.;
  • 31,200 square feet at 1220 Paco Way.

“Companies are attracted to Lakewood because rental rates are half the cost found at facilities closer to New York City,” Ocean County Freeholder Joseph Vicari said.

“As an example, we have brought research companies into the park that create high-paying jobs for our highly motivated and educated workforce. The local employee base has a great work ethic and they have skills for today and for tomorrow,” he said.

The Lakewood Industrial Park occupies more than 2,000 acres and is just off the Garden State Parkway at Exit 88/89. It has created more than 10,000 local jobs, Sudler said, and $2 billion in revenue each year.
