Health insurer AmeriHealth New Jersey announced Thursday that Berkeley Heights-based Summit Medical Group has joined its Local Value Network.
Members of AmeriHealth New Jersey who use the network will now be able to visit any Summit Medical Group provider or CityMD location as an in-network patient.
In August, Summit Medical Group, a multispeciality medical group, merged with CityMD, an urgent care provider for the New York metro area. The combined organization now has more than 1,400 providers and 200 locations throughout New Jersey and New York.
Summit Medical Group will also become Tier 1 provider for the health insurer’s AmeriHealth Advantage Plan.
“We are pleased to welcome Summit Medical Group and CityMD locations in New Jersey to our Local Value Network,” Ken Kobylowski, senior vice president of provider contracting and network operations for AmeriHealth New Jersey, said. “Summit Medical Group and CityMD’s combined organization offers an extensive number of locations throughout central and northern New Jersey, providing our members with enhanced access to another Tier 1 provider.”
