Rowan University announced Thursday it has received a $10 million pledge from Ric and Jean Edelman to provide scholarships to its communication and creative arts students.
The Glassboro-based university said the donation is the single largest gift it has ever received for scholarships. The funds will support both merit- and need-based academic scholarships for students in its College of Communication & Creative Writing.
Students selected for the scholarship, which will mostly be freshman (although not limited to) will be eligible for a stipend to be used for conference travel, workshops and other professional development opportunities.
The Edelmans are the founders of Edelman Financial Engines, a financial planning and investment management firm.
