SBA seeks nominations for N.J. Small Business Person of the Year, other awards

The U.S. Small Business Administration is looking for its next New Jersey Small Business Person of the Year, it announced, as it is taking nominations for that award and its other 2020 National Small Business Week honors.

“Since 1963, National Small Business Week has recognized the outstanding achievements of America’s small businesses for their contributions to their local communities, and to our nation’s economy,” SBA New Jersey District Director Al Titone said in a prepared statement. “We are always looking for the best and brightest small business owners, who have utilized and benefited from SBA programs and services around New Jersey, to submit their Small Business Week 2020 award nominations to the SBA.”

Titone said the awards will be given in celebration of Small Business Week, which is May 3-9, 2020. The winner of the New Jersey Small Business Person of the Year award will be invited to Washington, D.C., that week to compete for the National Small Business Person of the Year honor.

Awards and categories for which the SBA is seeking nominations include:

  • Small Business Person of the Year;
  • Exporter of the Year;
  • Phoenix Awards for Disaster Recovery;
  • Federal Procurement Awards;
  • Jody C. Raskind Lender of the Year;
  • Small Business Investment Company of the Year;
  • SBA Resource Partners awards.
