NAI Hanson negotiates sale of former elementary school in Phillipsburg

NAI James E. Hanson, a commercial real estate firm based in Teterboro, announced on Wednesday it has negotiated the sale of a vacant elementary school building in Phillipsburg.

NAI Hanson’s Joseph Vindigni represented the buyer, Michael Tzezairlidis, in the deal with the seller, the Phillipsburg Board of Education.

Sutiated on 1.08 acres, the two-story, 8,500-square-foot building located at 1 Fairview Ave. was the previous home of the Howell Elementary School, built in 1928 and vacant since 2017.

Vindigni said the space will be a perfect fit for his client who was planning to relocate their contract embroidery and screen-printing company from Roselle Park. In addition to providing a home for his business on the lower level, Tzezairlidis is planning to renovate the main level and provide office space for the arts community to lease.

“With deep relationships in the northern New Jersey market and a history extending back over 50 years, our team is uniquely qualified to work on deals like this one,” Vindigni said. “As a New Jersey-based business ourselves, we also possess an unmatched understanding of the needs of local businesses that we leverage to help our clients find the right spaces at fair market value in a variety of locations.”
