State Theatre New Jersey will hold its fourth annual Women’s Tea on Tuesday, Feb. 25. This very special event features an invaluable networking reception followed by high tea and a special program in the elegant Studio at State Theatre New Jersey.

Looking ahead to Women’s History Month in March, the Women’s Tea celebrates the theater’s rich artistic legacy by highlighting some of the esteemed female artists who have performed on the State Theatre stage over the years. From screen icons like Debbie Reynolds and Mary Tyler Moore; to vocal powerhouses like Audra McDonald, Diana Ross, Renée Fleming, Liza Minnelli, Melissa Etheridge, Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin and Olivia Newton-John; to legends of comedy like Carol Burnett, Joan Rivers, Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg; to contemporary artists like Diana Krall, Martina McBride, Toni Braxton, Mandy Harvey, Regina Spektor and the Indigo Girls — State Theatre New Jersey has hosted some of the finest artists from around the country and around the world.

The Women’s Tea will feature a program recognizing the valuable contributions State Theatre New Jersey’s artists and attendees have made to the community, through their dedication to dozens of charities, public service, their extended families and their commitment to excellence. Featured speakers and performers at past Women’s Teas have included poet Glenis Redmond, State Theatre artist-in-residence; sopranos Monica Yunus and Camille Zamora, founders of the nonprofit Sing for Hope; and pianist Min Kwon, founder of the Center for Musical Excellence. This year’s program features violinist Suliman Tekalli, the top prize winner of the 2015 Seoul International Music Competition and prize winner in the Sendai, Lipizer, and Szeryng International Violin Competition.

State Theatre New Jersey’s Women’s Tea Committee includes Anne Marie Almasi, Almasi Site and Utility Co.; Barbara Barnett, entrepreneur; Betsy Garlatti; Sally Glick, SobelCo; Colleen Logan, SobelCo; Anne Picone, Marketsmith Inc.; Jessica Viotto, PNC; and Wendy Wiebalk, Cahn & Parra LLC and State Theatre New Jersey trustee.

Proceeds from the Women’s Tea benefit State Theatre New Jersey’s arts access programs, which provide affordable access to the arts for more than 40,000 underserved students, families, seniors and veterans each year.

State Theatre’s Women’s Tea event begins at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25.
