Supply chain solutions company NFI has wrapped up its acquisition of G&P Trucking Co. Inc., a logistics provider serving the Southeastern U.S., it announced Monday.
NFI, based in Camden, said in a news release that the deal for South Carolina-based G&P strengthens its presence in the Southeast region and gives it more than 300 locations throughout North America employing more than 12,600 workers.
“G&P is a well-respected, family-owned transportation company with a deep-rooted history, and our shared values of family and integrity create a perfect cultural fit,” NFI CEO Sid Brown said in a prepared statement. “Unifying the talents of both NFI and G&P teams, we are excited to bring even greater value to our customers through our robust suite of solutions. Together, our combined footprint will distinguish us as one of the largest dedicated transportation providers in North America.”
G&P, which traces its history back more than 83 years, has 370 tractors and 3,000 trailers that will join NFI’s asset-based transportation fleet to provide contract carriage solutions, NFI said. The assets will bring NFI’s fleet to 2,700 company drivers, 400 owner-operators, more than 3,000 tractors and 12,500 trailers.
