Duke Realty has named a regional senior vice president to oversee its Northeast operations, including New Jersey, it announced Wednesday.
Art Makris will be responsible for leasing and management of existing industrial properties in the Garden State and Pennsylvania, as well as identifying new development and construction opportunities, the logistics property real estate investment trust said in a news release.
He will be based out of the Indianapolis-based firm’s New Jersey office in Jersey City.
Makris has been with Duke Realty for 23 years, primarily focused on in the Ohio region.
“Art has been one of our most successful leasing and development associates, working closely with many of today’s leading businesses to find the best logistics space for their operations, whether it’s build-to-suit or occupying space in one of our existing assets,” Steve Schnur, executive vice president and chief operating officer, said in a prepared statement. “He also has been creative in finding and securing the best land positions and working with local officials on zoning and incentives.
“Art’s expertise and track record make him the perfect person to lead our efforts in the Northeast region, since both New Jersey and the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania are areas where we want to grow our industrial profile.”
