Imperial Dade, a Jersey City-based distributor of disposable food and janitorial supplies, announced on Wednesday it has acquired American Paper & Plastics.

The purchase, Imperial said in a news release, will help strengthen its presence in California.

“APP’s strong reputation and track record of outstanding customer service make the company a great addition to the Imperial Dade family,” Imperial Dade CEO Robert Tillis said.

American Paper & Plastics, based in the City of Industry, California, is also a food service and janitorial products distributor.

“We are excited to grow our presence in California and look forward to partnering with Daniel and his team to capitalize on the many growth opportunities that we see ahead for the business,” Jason Tillis, president, said.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

“Imperial Dade’s commitment to customer service aligns well with our own philosophy and values. I am excited for the opportunity to partner with Bob and Jason to further grow our business and better serve our customers as part of the Imperial Dade platform,” said Daniel Emrani, CEO of American Paper and Plastics.
