Jersey City Medical Center on Tuesday officially opened a new maternity wing.
Attending the Lord Abbett Maternity Wing opening ceremony were about 100 hospital executives and medical leaders, key donors, elected officials, and more.
“The partnership of business and health care is critical for the well-being and growth of our community,” Michael Prilutsky, CEO and president, Jersey City Medical Center, said. “Through the generous support and outstanding partnership of Lord Abbett, the Lord Abbett Maternity wing offers a family-centric birthing experience that matches the world-class labor and delivery services available at Jersey City Medical Center.”
A $1 million donation from Jersey City-based investment management firm Lord, Abbett & Co. helped establish the new wing.

Sieg, managing partner, Lord Abbett, said. “Our partnership with Jersey City Medical Center-RWJBarnabas Health to create this state-of-the-art wing is a meaningful demonstration of our long-term commitment to supporting generations of families in this diverse and vibrant community.”
The new 17,500-square-foot floor will have 20 private mother-baby rooms to promote family bonding and best outcomes with key features such as ambient lighting, smart TVs, a nutrition room, Work station on Wheels for nurses and Halo bassinets.
