Selective Insurance Group announces new officer appointments

Branchville-based Selective Insurance Company of America, a subsidiary of Selective Insurance Group Inc., announced new officer appointments.

They are as follows:

Shadi Albert, executive vice president, insurance strategy and business development.

Albert joined Selective in 2013 as assistant vice president, reinsurance and enterprise risk management. He was then promoted to vice president, commercial lines underwriting in 2014, director of field operations in 2016 and senior vice president, regional manager for Selective’s Southwest region in 2017. Before that, he was the assistant vice president, rating agency and enterprise risk advisory at Towers Watson.

John Bresney, executive vice president, chief information officer.

Bresney joined the company in 1994 as a management trainee and programmer. He’s held various roles throughout the years, including assistance vice president, enterprise development service; vice president, infrastructure and operations; and vice president of personal lines business architecture.

Gordon Gaudet, executive vice president, chief innovation officer.

Gaudet joined Selective in 2013 as executive vice president, chief information officer. Before that, he was the director and co-lead of Deloitte Consulting’s insurance core system transformation practice. He also served as a partner and chief information officer at The Actuarials Exchange LLC.

Brenda Hall, executive vice president, commercial lines chief operating officer.

Hall, who joined in 2001 as a lead underwriter, has held several leadership roles at Selective including vice president, underwriting; senior vice president, director of field underwriting; and senior vice president, chief strategic operations officer.

Nathan Rugge, senior vice president, actuarial reserving.

Rugge joined Selective in 2009 as an actuarial assistant and most recently served as assistant vice president, actuarial pricing.
