Talon, a Mount Laurel-based software storage solution provider, announced on Monday it has been acquired by NetApp, a Sunnydale, California-based cloud data services provider.
The combination of Talon’s file catching software in combination with NetApp’s Cloud Volumes suite will create the potential to consolidate and centralize large networks of geographically dispersed distributed file servers into the cloud.
“We’re excited about the potential for our customers to be brought more completely into the NetApp customer family, with all of their resources and vision,” Shirish Phatak, founder and CEO of Talon Storage, said “This is a true ‘win-win’ for Talon’s stakeholders, employees, and customers, as both NetApp and Talon share a common vision for the power of the cloud as the consolidated repository for all types of unstructured data.”
Talon will also help enhance NetApp’s cloud data services portfolio with a solution that helps solve remote office and branch office challenges with file shares.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
