Wiley acquires Bio-Rad’s informatics assets

John Wiley and Sons Inc., a research and education provider based in Hoboken, announced on Thursday it has acquired Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc.‘s informatics products, including its spectroscopy software and spectral databases.

“Laboratory-generated data is at the heart of all research. We welcome these new spectroscopy products and services that will help enhance the Wiley Science Solutions portfolio,” Judy Verses, executive vice president, Wiley Research, said. “These software and spectral libraries are invaluable interpretation tools for researchers who are making an impact in laboratories ranging from environmental to pharmaceutical, and from aerospace to toxicology.”

The acquisition will add software to Wiley’s Science Solutions segment and expand its offerings in the spectroscopy market and its ability to analyzing research data.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
