New Jersey Innovation Institute, an NJIT Corp., announced on Monday that Jennifer D’Angelo has been named vice president and general manager, responsible for leading the company’s health care division, effective May 4.
“Jennifer has a wealth of experience, is well respected in the industry, and the latest example of great talent joining NJII,” NJII CEO Simon Nynens said. “Health care requires innovation now more than ever. We are excited to welcome Jennifer to our team.”
At NJII, D’Angelo will also be responsible for managing the heath care division’s for-profit subsidiary: Healthcare Innovation Solutions.
“I am thrilled to join an organization I have witnessed first-hand help health care providers across the state transition to value-based delivery models, demonstrate meaningful use of their electronic health record systems and improve their interoperability by participating in a statewide health information network. “ D’Angelo said.
D’Angelo is the current senior vice president and chief information officer at the Paramus-based Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. There, she heads cybersecurity, HIPAA security and privacy, information services, clinical informatics, and telecommunications. Earlier in her career, she held a similar role at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff.
“We worked very hard at Bergen New Bridge to pivot to telehealth and provide technology solutions that equip the hospital staff to meet the needs of their patient population during the COVID-19 pandemic. I believe the team at NJII has an opportunity to help health care providers across the state undergo the same transformation during this unbelievably challenging time and I am excited to lead that effort.”
