Cherry Hill-based TD Wealth announced on Thursday it has named Alan Chabot as the new head of U.S. wealth distribution.
In this role, Chabot will be responsible for driving the bank’s wealth distribution strategy in the U.S. as well as growing its advice business.
“Over the past several years, TD’s U.S. Wealth business has grown exponentially because of the strategic investments we made in our advice-based services, products and people, which have better positioned us to deliver on our clients’ needs,” Peter Mottek, head of U.S. wealth, said. “There is more demand than ever before on wealth firms to deliver best-in-class client service and advice. We are confident that Alan’s addition, coupled with his proven track record in driving sales strategies, will help elevate TD Wealth to the next level.”
Prior to TD Wealth, Chabot was the CEO and president of Santander Securities. Before that, he held a variety of senior roles, including CEO of Chase Investment Services, chief risk officer at Chase Wealth Management, the national head of recruiting for Smith Barney and chief operating officer for Citi Private Bank.
“It is my goal to drive the emergence of TD Wealth in the U.S. as an industry leader, leveraging TD’s well-established wealth blueprint from our Canadian colleagues, as well as TD’s award-winning Retail and Commercial Banking businesses here in the U.S.,” Chabot said. “We look forward to growing aggressively by adding highly talented and disciplined executives to our robust U.S. platform and deepening our strategic collaboration with our TD Bank partners. We will continue to innovate our Wealth offerings as we further infuse TD’s ‘unexpectedly human’ culture into everything we do.”
