Stockton University announced on Tuesday it has named Jane Bokunewicz as institute coordinator for the Levenson Institute for Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism, effective May 1.
The Galloway-based institution said as coordinator, Bokunewicz will, on an interim basis, take on the duties of Rummy Pandit, executive director, who is leaving Stockton to take on a role with Johnson & Wales University. A formal search for the positive will take place once the COVID-19 pandemic is over.
“Dr. Bokunewicz not only brings her academic background to the position, having taught about casino and hotel management, but she also has substantive experience in the hospitality industry,” Alphonso Ogbuehi, dean of the School of Business at Stockton, said.
Bokunewicz, who is currently serving as an associate professor of hospitality, previously was the vice president of administration at Tropicana. She also worked with LIGHT since 2012.
“I have enjoyed working closely with LIGHT over the past eight years and I am looking forward to taking on a more active role working with community leaders and policy makers as the gaming and hospitality industry recovers in the coming months,” Bokunewicz said.
“I have complete confidence that Jane will provide strong leadership for LIGHT as we navigate the ongoing COVID-19 crisis,” Ogbuehi said. “We thank Rummy for his illustrious service to Stockton University over the past decade and wish him continued success in his future endeavors.”https://stockton.edu/
