Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. New Jersey announced on Thursday it has named Sam Fiocchi as its new president.
The Mount Laurel-based construction association said Fiocchi, who has more than 35 years of experience in both public and private sector, most recently ran his family’s irrigation business and had been elected as a representative in both state and county government.
“Sam is a proven leader who is more than ready to step into his new role,” Michael Russo, chairman of the ABC NJ board, said. “His professional demeanor and grasp of critical matters important to the industry give him a full understanding of the needs of merit shop owners throughout the state. We are confident he has the vision and experience to both grow the organization and lead our members into the future.”
Fiocchi is currently a member of the City of Vineland Planning Board and a previous member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment from 2009-2011. In addition, he was an Assemblyman from the 1st Legislative District from 2014-2016 and a member of the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders from 2011-2013. He also serve as past president of the New Jersey Irrigation Association.
“I am excited to take on this role with ABC New Jersey and thank them for the opportunity to promote and advocate on behalf of the merit shop construction industry,” Fiocchi said. “As we move beyond the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic, I want to ensure our current members have the ability to achieve the highest levels of individual and company performance in an environment of fair and open competition, while also working to bring in new members which will strengthen our voice with policymakers.”
