Construction underway on Phase II of mixed-use development in Union

Centurion Union, a mixed-use development part of the Stuyvesant Avenue Redevelopment Project, is going up along Stuyvesant Avenue in Union, according to real estate developer American Landmark Development.

The second phase includes a building with four stories, 75 residences and 10,000 square feet of street-level retail space. The first phase of construction, located at 975 Bonnel Court, included the opening of 80 luxury apartments — 50% are already leased — and a host of other modern amenities. Immediate occupancy is available with rents starting at $1,825 for a one-bedroom and $2,400 for a two-bedroom.

When the project is completed, it will have a total of 300 new residences and 27,000 square feet of retail space throughout four buildings.

“We’re excited to show tangible evidence of our shared vision with Union Township of providing a downtown destination for residents to live, dine and shop,” Manuel A. Fernandez, founder of American Landmark Development, said. “With the first phase of apartments completed and already being enjoyed by residents and construction moving along on the second phase, we’re well on our way to breathing new life and energy into Union Center.”

The second phase is expected to be completed in eight months, American Landmark said. Retail leases have already been signed, including Unity Bank as the anchor space. The entire project will result in 724 linear feet.

Homes at Centurion Union will feature keyless entry doors, expansive living areas, 9-foot ceilings, in-home washer and dryers, gas range stoves, and more. Residents can also utilize amenities such as a fitness center, game room, resident-only lounge, co-working spaces, children’s playroom, dog run and onsite parking.

The property is within close access to routes 78 and 22, and the Garden State Parkway.
