Getinge, a supplier of products and solutions to hospitals and life science institutions, announced on Wednesday it has invested in a lease agreement for its U.S. sales and service unit in Wayne.
The new facility will host more than 200 employees as well as a new Service Training Center.
“We have a long history in New Jersey and this investment solidifies Getinge’s strong commitment to New Jersey and supports leadership training and knowledge sharing with our customers,” Eric Honroth, president Getinge North America, said. ”This new facility will host our strong talent pool in New Jersey to continue leadership partnership initiatives within the healthcare industry.”
The facility, located at 1 Geoffrey Way, is the former world headquarters of Toys R Us — located within close access to company’s existing manufacturing facility.
This initiative is part of Getinge’s plan to consolidate three New Jersey facilities in Wayne, Mahwah and Fairfield into two in Wayne and Mahwah. The company has approximately 1,100 workers in the state, with 200 slated to move into the new facility.
“The multimillion USD investment will create a modern, state of the art work environment for our existing and future co-workers. Customers are at the core of everything we do, and our new facility will allow our customers to experience our offerings and collaborate with us to help save more lives,” Eric said.
