Delaporte to take over as CEO of Wipro

Wipro Ltd., an East Brunswick-based information technology, consulting and business process services company, announced on Friday it has appointed Thierry Delaporte as CEO and managing director, effective July 6.

Delaporte most recently served as the chief operating officer of Capgemini Group. He held several roles during his 25-year stint there including CEO of the global financial services strategic business unit and head of all global service lines.

We believe that Thierry is the right person to lead Wipro in its next phase of growth,” Rishad Premji, chairman, Wipro, said.

The company also said Abidali Neemuchwala will be stepping down from his role as CEO and managing director on June 1, with Premji overseeing daily operations until July 5.
