Jefferson Health names Sweeney to president/COO of N.J. division

Jefferson Health announced on Friday it has named Brian Sweeney to president and chief operating officer of its New Jersey division.

Sweeney, who has 23 years of experience in the health care industry, was named interim president of the health system in March, replacing New Jersey Division President Joseph W. Devine. Devine is still with the company in an enterprise role.

“Throughout this pandemic, Brian has demonstrated strong leadership skills, decisiveness, and operational aptitude,” Stephanie Conners, executive vice president and enterprise chief operating officer, Jefferson Health, said. “In just three months, he has built strong partnerships with his leadership team, physicians and staff, and Jefferson New Jersey board members.”

Previously, Sweeney was the chief operating officer at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
