Stro leases space in Hackensack to national bakery company

The Stro Companies announced on Monday it has lease 23,500 square feet of its Newman Street building in Hackensack to Gold Medal Bakery.

The Fall River, Massachusetts-based bakery is a fourth-generation, family-owned and -operated company that specializes in high quality breads, rolls and English muffins. It also transports products with its own fleet of tractors and trailers.

The move to 215 S. Newman St. represents the tenant’s relocation of its New Jersey warehousing and distribution center.

Lee & Associates‘ Drew Maffey and Rick Marchisio represented Gold Medal Bakery in the deal.

“215 S. Newman is well-situated near I-80, the NJ Turnpike, Routes 17, 46 and 4, and the Garden State Parkway, making this an ideal location for Gold Medal’s distribution hub,” Zach La Motta, director of leasing at Stro, said.

The 65,700-square-foot building features eight tailgates, two drive-in docks and 16-foot ceilings.

“We are pleased to have Gold Medal Bakery as our newest tenant.  Their stellar reputation and professionalism made this process easy and seamless in otherwise challenging times,” Mitchel Kay, chief operating officer and general counsel, Stro, said.  “Despite the COVID-19 environment, the demand for industrial space in the Northern New Jersey area remains strong.”
