The New Jersey Economic Development Authority is extending the deadline for businesses in Essex, Passaic and Ocean counties to apply for phase 2 of the Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program through July 8, the EDA announced Tuesday.
Business can receive grants of up to $10,000.
Money for the grants came from the counties out of their distribution of CARES Act funding. EDA officials said the deadline extension will ensure these funds are used to their full potential by providing additional time for businesses to apply for grants.
More importantly, it could help businesses in those counties avoid being shut out of the $45 million grant fund for small businesses that the EDA also will disperse.
Business owners can apply here.
